Graphic design and Art
New work in by Alastair Laing with his trademark nod to his Graphic Design/Calligraphy background got me thinking about the differences between the specialisms. I love Alastair's use of symbols and patterns in the forground of his paintings, with the background always having a slightly more traditional style. It really is a feast for the eyes! The emalgamation between design and art here works well, but in the more general scheme of things there can sometimes be blurred lines
