This striking oil painting by Jim Wylie, “Turnberry Shadows,” captures a quiet, glowing moment along the coast near Turnberry Lighthouse. The tall white lighthouse stands proudly against a huge sweep of soft blue sky, while warm golden light spills across the land and deep shadows stretch over the rugged foreground.
There’s a lovely sense of calm and space in the scene — the sea sits flat and glassy on the horizon, and wispy clouds drift past a pale moon high above.
