Peter Luti was born
and raised in Callander and can still be found living in the
town. After a few seasons peeling tatties for his parents' Fish
and Chip Shop, Peter headed for
Dundee to study ceramics at Duncan of Jordanstone College of
Art. Continuing his studies, Peter next went to Goldsmith's
College in London, for further art tuition, before himself training as a teacher of Art and Design.
After Teacher Training, Peter taught in schools for a number
of years before taking up a lectureship at Jordanhill College of
Education. He then moved to St. Andrew's College as Head of Art
and Design.
Peter retired as Head of Expressive Arts, Faculty of
Education, University of Glasgow, to concentrate on his passion
for painting, mainly in acrylics.
Peter regularly shows work in a range of galleries across the
country and work has been purchased for collections across
Europe, Dubai ,the USA and Canada.
Artist Quote:
'It is great now to develop and research different ways of
working. My work is not representational, yet it is not
abstract. I would say it is simplified; it comes from what I
have seen, felt and remember.'
