The concept of his landscape paintings is centred on the interdependent relationship with light and nature, the acceptance that colour reflects the changing moods of the landscape.

The paintings are semi-abstract and are a distillation of experience, an evocation of the visual reality.

This concept is carried through to the figurative work which is slightly obscure and quirky. The work is process driven and swings between control and letting the materials express themselves on canvas. This development process involves encouraging one experience to lead to another.
