Pine Nocturne
Jim Wylie |
22nd July Oh joy of Joys! The sun has finally decided to come to
Callander. Isn't it funny how everything seems so much better in the
sun. I'm delighted to announce that we have a new artist to the
La Vacanza exhibition. Jim Wylie
popped in a couple of weeks ago and has now given us some delightful
paintings. We also have a lovely publication about The Glasgow
Group, which Jim became a member of in 2002, for the bargain price
of £3!!
Awesome!

Scottish Art! We just love it.
|
10th July I've just been checking the analytical stats for the
website and am delighted to announce our first hits from.... wait
for it..... MONGOLIA and COLUMBIA!! Welcome, welcome to our far off
friends.
It just goes to show the quality of work that Scottish artists
are producing.... appealing to everyone! Hoorah!
I'm waiting in anticipation for the weather to hurry up and get
warm. Come on the summer - where are you? I'm not fretting too much
though, because as usual, the exhibiting artists have come up with
the goods for La
Vacanza Colora
and there is definitely an air of summer inside
the gallery, if not out. With all these lovely warm paintings
surrounding me it's all I can do to stop myself from stripping down
to my bikini and donning some tanning lotion when I arrive at the
gallery every morning.
(don't worry - I don't ACTUALLY do that... it's still safe to
come in, I assure you I'm always FULLY clothed)

Purple is a good colour

We're into the second day of the new exhibition
'VIVID IMAGES'
which will run throughout May and June. We welcome
new artists to the Gallery, Elise Fergusson and Lady Margaret
Sutherland, as well as showing some fine new pieces by returning
artists such as Sharon Mitchell, Colin Christie and Alastair Laing.
We also have a Luti duo exhibiting for the first time in Galleria
Luti. As usual, Peter has come up with a range of crackers, and
there are even some Marsh Luti's on the wall now too. It's only
taken me 20 months to get some of my own art up. Hurrah.... they're
good if you like purple by the way.
Congratulations to my sis, Peita and her husband Andrew for the
arrival of the absolutely delightful Connor.
With lots of Love from Nonno and Noona Luti (Peter and Sandie) and

fabulous family of artists.

Fiona Ross's quirky take on life

Ha ha ha ha - Classic
|
11th March Well, I made it home safe and sound, and it's good to
be back (apart from the very wintry weather that is!). I was barely
back for half an hour before work on the new exhibition started. All
the paintings had arrived but mum and dad, being the gracious soles
that they are, waited so that I could do the hanging. Gee thanks
guys.
Anyway, paintings hung and the place is looking spiffing if I do
say so myself. Fiona Ross in particular has been receiving praise
and I have to admit I always have a wee smile and a chuckle when I
see her paintings, such humour and quirkiness they exude.
I also love the distinctive style of Joe Smernicki, well
done for finding him mum.
Talking of mum, we did a wee photo shoot to try out the new
camera a while back and although she'll probably kill me for putting
the photos up, I thought we all deserved a bit of a laugh.

21st November
So we are now into our Christmas Exhibition,
'Inverno'
literally translated as 'Winter' in Italian. I'm thinking that
we might have to be slightly more creative in our exhibition
naming next year as we've now used up the Italian words for
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Christmas.
We are delighted to welcome new artists to Galleria Luti Owen
Henderson, Ed Hunter and Frances Bowie to our winter exhibition
whose work are bringing a fantastic range of styles, colours and
textures to the fold. We're also happy to welcome back some of
our favourite past exhibitors.... including a number of new Luti
paintings into the bargain.
We're boasting one of our best jewellery displays yet too,
there certainly is something for everyone here.... a reassuring
thought I'm sure, with Christmas coming up.
And for the ceramic lovers out there we welcome new exhibitor
Lisa Rooney with her fantastic collection of dogs and ceramic
badges.
Once again the Placemats, coasters and mugs are proving
popular choices as Christmas pressies to send overseas. An
excellent Scottish gift for any country, and no hint of
Shortbread or tartan. Bonus!
