Lynne Glazzard bases her designs on the wild dramatic scenery of
the north Yorkshire moors.
'I only have to look up to see the incredible views - the
colours change rapidly with the seasons, the weather and with
the shift of light throughout the day.'
Lynne combines traditional enamelling techniques with a
contemporary approach to colour, creating patterns and textures
to reflect the fields and moor-lands. She builds up layers of
transparent enamel over silver wires. As well as this enamel
technique, Lynne also creates pieces from dyed anodised
aluminium.
After several careers, including civil service and working as a
legal clerk, she graduated from university with a first-class
honours in interior design. It was only after she acquired her
first kiln in 1997 that she began to experiment with enamel on
small pieces of copper.
Lynne has exhibited in numerous outlets across the UK and was
recently awarded a grant from the prestigious Arts Council.
